The Wastewater System: A Shared Responsibility

To help keep Lake Tahoe and the environment clean for the health and enjoyment of all, both homeowners and sewer agencies must do their part to keep the wastewater system free and flowing and reduce the risk of a sewer spill.

Tahoe-Truckee Sanitation Agency

Businesses and homeowners in the District pay a sewer fee to the NTPUD (one of the five-member agencies of the Truckee Tahoe Sanitation Agency (T-TSA) to process and export wastewater out of the District. Businesses and homeowners also pay a fee directly to T-TSA for the treatment of the District’s wastewater at their Truckee plant.
