2024 Watermain Project –
This project will construct approximately 2,000 linear feet of new watermain in the State Route 28 right-of-way on the Eastern edge of the NTPUD boundaries, between Park Lane and the CA/NV state line.
The new watermain will replace the existing small-diameter watermain currently in service and add fire hydrants in accordance with California Fire Code standards.
PROJECT UPDATES – Tuesday, Sept. 10
- Each day construction will pause between 4pm – 6pm to open two lanes for the afternoon commute traffic.
- The NTPUD is watching the Davis Fire and our construction crews working on Highway 28 between Kings Beach and Incline Village are in close communication with CalTrans and local emergency officials. We are aware of the Red Flag warning and high fire risk conditions. If requested, we are prepared to respond and can reopen the highway quickly.
PROJECT SCHEDULE
- There will be one-way traffic control setup throughout the week (Sunday-Friday).
- Construction crews will be working 24-hours per day, with night work, on the highway and installation of the new watermain pipeline.
