The Pam Emmerich Memorail Pinedrop Trail
The Pam Emmerich Memorial Pinedrop Trail is a 1.5-mile paved trail that connects Pinedrop Drive (off of Highway 267) to the North Tahoe Regional Park. This trail is an opportunity for Kings Beach residents to access the Regional Park on bikes or on foot. Parents with children use this trail often to ride bikes, skateboards or scooters and many people run or walk this trail for exercise.
The trail is named in honor of the late Pam Emmerich. Pam was a natural connector and advocate, who joined the North Tahoe Public Utility District as its Public Information Officer in 2004. Pam also spent over a decade as a Board member and volunteer for the North Tahoe Business Association. In these roles, she helped realize many of the improvements in Kings Beach and Tahoe Vista, including the enhancement of local digital communications, the creation of trails and parks, the redevelopment of North Lake Boulevard in Kings Beach, and the Music on the Beach series, to name just a few.
Growing up a lover of the natural world, Pam cherished her life-long friendships and enjoyed the outdoors, live music, traveling, mountain biking, sailing, riding horses and supporting theatre and charitable causes. Everyone who knew Pam was inspired by her gigantic heart, hard work, and how she lived life to the absolute fullest.
This trail was dedicated in Pam’s memory by the NTPUD Board of Directors on August 11, 2020.

SUMMER
Hiking & Biking Trails
The North Tahoe Regional Park has a variety of trails available for hiking and biking, from gently sloped to nearly flat, and steep uphill and downhill trails. Standard trail courtesy applies, bikes should yield to hikers. Please don’t forget to pick up after your pet if they join you.
While there are some challenging ascents and descents, the majority of the trail system is a good introduction to mountain biking for those that have never tried it and also a quick, fun ride through a beautiful trail system for experienced bikers. The Pam Emmerich Memorial Pinedrop Bike Path also connects to the North Tahoe Regional Park.
WINTER
Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing
For those interested in a quieter, more peaceful way to explore the winter wonderland, cross-country skiers and snowshoers can explore the groomed trails throughout the Park and surrounding public lands. Don’t forget to visit some of the most majestic Incense Cedars on the North Shore via the “Cedar Trail.”
Our friendly grooming staff requests that snowshoers and walkers, please stay on the right side of the groomed trails to leave the center of the groomed track for cross-country skiers.
Dogs are welcome to bring their owners along for skiing or snowshoeing, but please make sure to pick up after your pet. Please be considerate.
Please note that there are no cross-country ski or snowshoe rentals in the North Tahoe Regional Park. Please bring your own equipment.
