Utility Operations Department Responsibilities

The Utility Operations Department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of the District’s Water and Sewer systems.

The Sewer system includes the following assets

  • 75 Miles of Gravity Sewer Line
  • 6.6 Miles of Sewer Force Main
  • 4 Collection Sewer Pump Stations
  • 14 Satellite Sewer Pump Stations
  • 1720 Sewer Manholes

A variety of service activities are required to maintain and operate District sewer systems

  • Production and Treatment of 423.3 Million Gallons of Water in 2014
    • National Avenue Water Treatment Plant and Park Well – 374 Million Gallons
    • Carnelian Wood Well – 23.5 Million Gallons
    • Dollar Cove (Purchased from Tahoe City Public Utility District) – 25.8 Million Gallons
  • Seven (7) Water Tanks with 4.15 Million Gallons of Storage
  • Six (6) Pressure Zones
  • Three (3) Booster Systems
  • Two (2) Wells
  • Three (3) Lake Intakes
