Are you interested in serving your community and helping guide the operations of Recreation and Parks at the North Tahoe Public Utility District?
The North Tahoe Public Utility District (NTPUD) is seeking applications from interested community members for three (3) Commissioner positions and two (2) Youth Commissioner positions to serve on the District’s Recreation and Parks Commission.
The NTPUD Board of Directors invites District residents and business owners who are interested in promoting and enhancing recreation and parks in North Lake Tahoe to volunteer and apply for these open positions.
Applications are due on or before Friday, October 11, 2024.
The Recreation and Parks Commission meets on the fourth Thursday, bi-monthly (February, April, June, August, October, December) at 6:00 PM, held at the North Tahoe Event Center, 8318 N Lake Blvd, Kings Beach, CA 96143. Per COVID case rates, the meeting may be held via zoom. Check the agenda for meeting location and details.

About the Commission:
The Board of Directors invites District residents and business owners who have an interest in recreation and parks to volunteer and serve on the Recreation and Parks Commission. Its members are an advisory commission to the NTPUD Board of Directors and liaison between the Board and the community on matters related to Recreation and Parks, and also administer the Youth Trust Fund which provides recreation scholarship opportunities for District children and teens.
The Commission consists of five (5) members and two (2) youth members and up to two (2) alternates. Applications received will be submitted to the Board of Directors and reviewed for consideration of their appointment. Members serve three (3) year terms and youth members serve one (1) year terms and both may serve multiple terms.
Steps to Apply:
- Review the By-laws for the Commission.
- Complete the 2024 Recreation and Parks Commission application.
- Submit the completed application to the District.
- Applicants will be considered at the announced Board of Directors meeting.
The Recreation and Parks Commission also assists with the NTPUD Pancake Breakfast which is held the second Saturday of the annual SnowFest Celebration in North Lake Tahoe. The Pancake Breakfast is held at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach between 8:30am – 10:30am and kicks off a day of SnowFest family-friendly activities in Kings Beach including the Pancake Breakfast, Dress Up Your Dog Contest, Kings Beach Parade, and a variety of other events.
The Commission has also been instrumental in planning and organizing the Friends of the Park Fund.
