Annual 6-Step Wage Range:  $117,748.80 to $150,259.20 (Exempt level position)

The North Tahoe Public Utility District, located on the north shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe, is looking for an experienced water and/or wastewater professional to serve as our Superintendent responsible for leading and managing the Maintenance Technician and Water Quality Division. This position plans, schedules, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work in a wide range of installation, modification, operation, maintenance and repair, and of the District’s water production and distribution and wastewater collection and pumping systems. The Superintendent also plans and coordinates a comprehensive computerized maintenance program and oversees operators and multiple crew activities.

This is a full supervisory level classification responsible for exercising independent judgment on diverse and specialized operations and maintenance within the Operations Department. Incumbents are responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating the work of assigned staff and for providing technical level support to management in a variety of areas.  Performance of the work requires independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines.

The exempt position is full-time, year-round with excellent benefit package that includes CalPERS pension program, District-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents, $3,500 annual contribution to HRA, 12 paid holidays, paid time-off (sick, administrative, vacation), long-term disability and group life insurance. The District will also support the employee’s certification process. This position is also covered under the Confirmation of Understanding for Management and Confidential Employees.
